I had a mixed experience at the Premier Inn Portsmouth City Centre. The service from the staff was commendable, especially during breakfast, but there were some significant shortcomings in terms of room assignments and breakfast quality that impacted my overall stay.

I found the rooms to be very clean, although I was disappointed with the room positions, as my two booked rooms were at opposite ends of different corridors.

Unfortunately, the breakfast quality was a letdown on one morning, with food being warm and a bit dried up, which contrasted sharply with the previous day’s service.

7.0/10
I had a mixed experience at Premier Inn Portsmouth City Centre. On the positive side, the location was prime for accessing local attractions and the train station. Unfortunately, my stay was marred by some cleanliness issues in the room and a less than comfortable sleeping arrangement for my son. The noise from the nearby railway was also quite bothersome, overshadowing some of the hotel’s good points.
Rooms
6.0
I requested a sofa bed when I booked, but the room didn’t have one, and the extra bed they provided was too small for my 6ft 3 son.
Service
8.0
The hotel manager was friendly and tried to accommodate our needs, even bringing a fan when the air conditioning wasn’t working.
Location

The hotel is right next to the Portsmouth & Southsea railway station, making it easy to get around the city.
Dining
5.0
While the restaurant staff were nice, the breakfast experience could have been better, as the tables were sticky and the breakfast wasn’t what I expected.
Facilities

There was only one lift working during my stay, which was inconvenient given the number of guests.

My stay at Premier Inn Portsmouth City Centre was quite enjoyable but had a few drawbacks. The check-in process was a breeze, and I appreciated the friendliness of the staff (especially the one who helped me at check-in). However, the hotel's public areas felt a bit neglected, and the lifts had some issues, which left me slightly concerned. Overall, though, it was a comfortable stay with a decent location near the train station.

Breakfast was a good value, although I wasn't keen on the pre-ordered setup; it had fresh food, but I missed the self-service aspect.

The rooms were quiet and comfortable, providing a nice retreat after a day of exploring. However, I did encounter a few minor issues, like a creaky bed and a strange smell that needed a quick fix. Overall, it was a solid experience with a few small hiccups.

The room was comfortable and clean, though I noticed a strange smell initially, which I managed to mask with aftershave. The bed was a bit creaky, but still provided a decent night's sleep.
